Psychographics

This is when a business targets a particular audience. They will do this by producing plans to target different types of audience. There make revenue from advertising products. They produce products and goods targeted at certain people and most of them would be audiences depending on the time of the day.

 

Another factor that is important is when it is best to put the advert on. This is important because depending on the time business can’t put certain adverts during the day. An example of this would during family time businesses aren’t allowed to show adverts which could be disturbing to the young generations.

 

To get the maximum amount of customers, the business needs to make sure that whatever they are advertising is suitable for a family if the advert is during the day and in the evening they can show advert which aren’t suitable for children because of the watershed.

Businesses need to make sure that the adverts are shown at the best time so they sell the maximum amount of products.

 

Seasonality

This is what adverts are shown at what time of the year. An example of this would be in December most of adverts which are shown on TV will be related to Christmas and sales of certain products which will attract more customers and target audience such as children will be attracted to sales of toys. The viewing figures are high in certain months such as November and December because people purchase gifts and presents for Christmas.

 Also the average time that people watch TV in winter is 2hours. The month with the lowest viewing figures are July and August. This is because most people are out either on holiday, shopping or in parks relaxing. Audience categories: This is when the adverts are categorised so they are only for certain people.  

Men 16-34

      You people usually watch TV at night so it’s important for the business to advertise their products which are aimed at young people. If the business does this they will get more audience and young people will be more aware of the product.

     

      Also young mostly watch sports such as football and cricket. So it important for the business to advertise their product on sports channels, this way they will get more audience.

     

     Men ABC1

     There are over 12 million ABC1 men in the UK. The men in this group are less likely to be single or divorced. Men in this group are less likely to be separated or divorced than many other demographics with over two thirds Married or cohabiting. Activities online involve travel, sport, finance and news sites ranking amongst their favourites.


      Men C2DE

This is a large and mixed demographic group which includes over ten million men in the UK.

Men 16-34

these types of people are less likely to have children and they are more sociable people which subsidize to them watching less television.


Men ABC1

this group of people are less likely to be divorced. They are likely to live in the south of London because are more jobs available in that area.


Men C2DE

this group of people do not care about expensive goods and are more flexible.

 

Men 55+

There are more than 7.5 million men over the age of 55 and most of them are elderly. This means that a lot of them watch TV to pass time.


Women 16-34

Young women are not that interested in the news and those with children often watch the most during school hours. The younger audiences watch reality shows because they prefer.



Women ABC1

these people are more likely to have children and the majority of these women do part time work and looking after their children.


Women C2DE

There are over 11 million people in UK and have an average of £17,000 result. Nearly half of them are women have kids under the age of 15.


Women 55+

There are 9 million women in this group in the UK and they are generally more rich then the other age groups in the UK.
