Research joyful and persuasive advertisements New

Introduction

In this piece of writing I am going to write my opinion on which type of technique works better in an advertisement. Are joyful advert techniques more effective than persuasive advertisement techniques?

Cadbury Advertisement (Joyful or persuasive)

 What are joyful advert techniques?

My opinion is that joyful adverts are more successful than the persuasive adverts. This is because they are remembered more by the audience who it’s aimed at because they hardly contain any important but boring information about the product which they are trying to advertise. For example the Cadbury Gorilla advert is a joyful advert. This is because it’s produced for amusement purposes only and it doesn’t contain any information about the product.

The advertisement has a gorilla that is playing drums and with the song ‘In the air tonight’ which is by Phil Collins. The advert focuses on only entertaining the audience which is a good technique because they will remember the advert. This is the reason why prefer joyful adverts because they are hard to forget.

What are persuasive advert techniques?

Persuasive adverts have less effect on the audience because they require the audience’s concentration.  This is because the advert includes the information about the products which is being advertised and this is difficult because the audience will take in the information and the keywords. Persuasive advert don’t use that many images because they include information, so could get boring for the audience.  For example persuasive adverts would be like lawyers adverts and other health related adverts which require concentration because they are informing you about the service or product.

Conclusion

In comparison to joyful advert, they don’t include much information about the product or how to use it which means that the audience can watch and understand it without any difficulty. On the other hand persuasive advert do have some positives such they include lots of information about products which is good because some people might not know what to do when someone has a stroke or cancer. But persuasive don’t have as much impact on the audience as joyful adverts because it attracts the audience more and they include some useful information.
